Technical Evaluation- Interoperability

A tool should be able to seamlessly operate on various platform and should have a capability to integrate with diverse systems.

This is the capability of an application to be able to operate, support and link with multi-platform.

In terms of interoperability, a system which can run on different database platforms, operating systems and hardware platforms is desirable.

In terms of integration, a platform should be supporting open standards like J2EE, .Net, COM to enable integration diverse systems and environments. This mostly is taken as given for state of the art tools.

Some tools come with preset integration with given portal, application servers OR standards applications such as Siebel, SAP, and ORACLE... Apart from this, standards development kits are made available for developers to create bridges with other applications.
